Repair & refurbishment services

All of our applications meet the highest quality standards. But even the best products have a limited lifespan. Should your instrument’s performance ultimately start deteriorating, we offer a comprehensive repair & maintenance service for pressure transmitters with damaged diaphragm seals. A key advantage of diaphragm seals is the fact they can be renewed, without replacing the entire pressure instrument. The substitute seal will function just as a new instrument, but without the higher costs and longer downtime associated with buying a whole new transmitter.

Instrument Services & Calibration

Frequent maintenance and servicing of instrumentation is essential for long lasting accurate measurements.

It is important to be sure of the instrumentations accuracy. For that reason several industries have frequent intervals where instruments need to be checked and recertified. Badotherm factory holds ISO-17025 accreditation for their pressure and temperature gauges. Pressure gauges can come with fully calibration traceable towards ILAC or in accordance with ISO-17025.

Inspection & observation service

Even with the most robust instruments, it can occur that instrumentation breaks down at some point in time. Sometimes it has a clear reason or cause, sometimes not. Badotherm has ample experience in the manufacturing, maintenance and servicing of mechanical pressure and temperature instrumentation. With its experience, our service employees are able to make a clear observation report and link the failure of the instrument to probable causes. This is well documented and presented in a report. In case required or desired, Badotherm can make suitable recommendations for improving the life time of the instrument. Of course, we do this together with the end users, who is supporting with full information on the process conditions that can or have occurred.

Pressure testing & calibration up to 7000 bar

Badotherm is manufacturer of high quality industrial pressure gauges, manufactured in accordance with the EN837. A niche is the pressure gauge market is high pressure solutions as from 1600 bar up to 7000 bar. These high pressure pressure gauges are manufactured according a different standard, being the DIN16001. The pressure gauges are often used for water jetting, high pressure pumps and autofrettage. The final pressure testing of pressure gauge above 4000 bar bar happens in our factory in the Netherlands. With this testing equipment, we can test up to 10000 bar.

Next to calibration of high pressure equipment, we can also offer short deliveries for the most common pressure gauge models and connections, for which we keep to most current components on stock.

Non Destructive Testing (NDT)

Non Destructive Testing is a group of techniques that allows products to be tested without permanent damage to the product. The NDT that is used to examine Badotherm products are depending on the product type and part of the product. Testing can be performed under several standards like ASME, AWS, API, ISO, or others. Examples of NDT that we can offer are:
X-ray testing: commonly offered on thermowells and some diaphragm seals
Liquid penetrant test: used to check the welds on cracks discontinuities
Visual inspection: during production of diaphragms seals VT is performed to observe cracks and surface discontinuities.
PMI: Positive material identification is a check on the material composition for metal parts
Helium Leak testing: Leak testing is standard done on all diaphragm combinations.
Pressure testing: All assemblies and pressure gauges are 100% pressure tested.

Process simulation

Diaphragm seals are all about accuracy and durability. All diaphragm seal applications are standard calibrated at room temperature. However, in the extremes of process measurement even the smallest deviation in seals may become noticeable. With our unique process simulation testing facility we can eliminate the smallest deviations by simulating various process conditions. This enables us to set each instrument we produce to its specific intended application. This additional testing is typically recommenced for critical applications with a span below 100 mbar, absolute pressures, and/or process temperatures above 150°C. Testing for durability can tell something about the expected life time of a specific application. This can be done at pressure or temperature fluctuations.

Durability testing

Durability Testing is a performance testing technique used to determine the characteristics of a system under various load conditions over time. This testing helps gathering data on how a product and its components behave under extreme loads. In which areas is a component stressed and how can it be optimized? How is the material fatigued after thousands of pressure pulses? How do gaskets react under a pulsating pressure or fluctuating process temperature. Durability testing provides answers to all of these questions. Badotherm performs continuous testing on the products and assemblies to increase durability and gather information on the products.

When there are factory specification or acceptance specification Badotherm can build a specific setup for the acceptance testing or collaborate with independent laboratory to do durability testing.

Diaphragm seal academy

Badotherm diaphragm seal academy supports in training and education in the selection, calculation, evaluation, and handling of diaphragm seals. All aspects of the process can be supported by means of online, on-site or in-house training. This type of training can help engineers on-site to check the needs, select correct application and handle the diaphragm seals during installation or shutdown. This reduces failures during startup, reduce turn around time and increases up-time of the diaphragm seal applications.

Production and Assembly

The core service of Badotherm is production and assembly. The complete company structure is build around production and assembly of pressure instruments. With a big factory in Romania and multiple regional assembly centers Badotherm is fully equipped for all kind of production and assembly work. Badotherm facilities can handle from small single piece production up to thousands of diaphragm seal assemblies, all with the same care, quality and attention the instruments deserve.

Welding certification

Diaphragm seal assemblies are all having specific welded parts. Welding makes leak free connection between the parts. With diaphragm seals the most common welds are the capillary weld to the transmitter and diaphragm seal and the diaphragm to its body. Badotherm has a long list of materials that are suitable to be used as diaphragm or body. This document gives a short overview on the material groups and types of construction that are certified either by the ASME IX or the ISO 15613 or both.
